Recently connected with an old colleague on LinkedIn, we worked together in England many moons ago. I notice he had a blog and immediately subscribed only to find out that it was mostly in Swedish … Google Chrome to the rescue!
Chrome immediately detected the language of his blog and asked if I would like to translate … yes please!
I know IE9 has a similar feature with Bing Translator, however, Google Chrome translations was much more intuitive and better integrated with the browser. For my own blog I am considering including a translator widget (Google, or Microsoft) which may make my blog more accessible to people who’s first language is not English. For the developers among us there is rich set of interfaces (SOAP, AJAX, HTTP) for integration to any kind of app you can create.
I wonder what other foreign content I have needlessly missed out on. Hopefully this will open a whole new world!
