Forget that it is called the God particle, it is a deliberately misleading and frankly offensive term coined by a book publisher (apparently) and widely duplicated by media outlets who really did not know any better. There is, and always will be a fundamental difference between the study of ontology and the ontic, and these tests really only address one of them.
What we have is strong evidence of a new fundamental particle that was theorized in the 60’s. What we do not know is if this is just the beginning or the end of the story. This video is a really nice illustration of what was discovered and frankly what was not.
