I have been trying to figure out for days what I might say on this blog about this catastrophic interruption to our lives, and frankly, nothing seems quite appropriate. I wanted to talk about how we are all remote employees now … or how to remote more efficiently … or maybe how to keep a healthy mind, body and soul when living in a cloud of fear. Frankly there are plenty of opinion pieces that accomplish this more effectively than I ever could, and given the gravity it felt opportunistic and glib .
What did occur to me is that there is a lot of misinformation out there and simply referencing accurate and reliable information is a service that every responsible site should take seriously. In fact we have seen social networking platforms explicitly remove information that is hostile to the public good, even if that information is popular, and I for one applaud these efforts.
So to support this idea I simply wanted to list and link to sites that are helpful and veracious:
CDC Coronavirus (COVID-19)
World Health Organization
European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control
Ohio Department of Health
Tracking the Virus
Bing has recently developed a COVID tracking site that is pulling together and visualizing the latest information from the CDC, WHO and ECDC.
I always encourage facts over fear, however, when the prevailing facts lead to fear I turn to hope.
